Hans Meinhardtwering cardiac Ca.β. expression attenuated pressure-induced ventricular hypertrophy in rats and appeared to be well tolerated in mice. These findings strongly support the idea that Ca.β. subunits are of pathophysiological relevance for development of cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure and a promising target for future treatment options.
