In this chapter, I look at Slauerhoff’s poetry as deserving to be evaluated not only in a modernist perspective, approximating him to Anglo-American counterparts such as T.S. J. Slauerhoff: Prose, also make their appearance in his prose. And just as his poetry has deep roots in foreign cultures and literatures, so does his prose. In this chapter, I discuss how I see Slauerhoff’s prose as making a place for him among the leading modernists of his age, and as a world author.
