Condition Monitoring of Machine Elements: Particle Separation and InvestigationTo use the particles distributed in the oil systems of machinery, a separation process is necessary. The following paper describes the techniques for oil sampling and particle separation in detail. Furthermore, the methods for particle investigation will be discussed and their relation to early failure detection will be shown.

Condition Monitoring of Machine Elements — Measuring Methods for Particle Amount and SizeKnowledge about particle amount and size is of high interest for condition monitoring of machine elements. Especially by these means, an early detection of wear failures is possible. This paper describes instruments and methods of particle counting and gives examples of practical application.

A Theoretical Study into the Effects of Damped Flexible Foundations on the Dynamic Behaviour of a 66rformance of rotating machines. The dynamic behaviour of a 660MW LP steam turbine with various foundation characteristics has been analysed in the present study. Interesting results were obtained and these results may be useful in understanding the dynamic behaviour of similar machines.
