Global Change a “caveman” motif in the context of an “ice age” without any need for explanation. The occurrence of major extinctions of biotic groups (such as the “dinosaurs”) in the past is not difficult for most people to imagine. In general, we are quite willing to believe that, viewed over the eons, the earth has been an extremely dynamic planet.

The Prediction and Physiological Significance of Tree Heightter, and irradiance leads to increased height, but why is it that species do not grow higher than they do, even in the most favorable sites? Is there a genetic component to the maximum height of species? If not, then what environmental factor or factors limit their height?
