Sensitivity Analysis of Discrete Markov Chainsrobabilities defined in terms of parameters that are of interest in the scientific question at hand. Sensitivity analysis is an important way to quantify the effects of changes in these parameters on the behavior of the chain.

Matrix Calculus and NotationThis book relies on this set of mathematical techniques. This chapter introduces the basics, which will be used throughout the text. For more information, I recommend four sources in particular. The most complete treatment, but not the easiest starting point, is the book by Magnus and Neudecker (1988).
