Towards a parallel C++ programming language based on commodity object-oriented technologies,emplates and inheritance, to create a prototype class/template library which supports three kinds of parallel programming styles. We tested the library performance with representative programs in each of the programming styles.

A compile-time meta-level architecture supporting class specific optimization,istributed array class in a parallel environment is introduced and its optimization program is presented. The optimizer is simple to describe, and it is effective. Evaluation using the CG kernel of NAS Parallel Benchmark shows that the program optimized by the meta-level optimizer runs almost as fast as the equivalent C program.

An object-oriented approach to the implementation of a high-level data parallel language,time system is realized as a generic class library, which efficiently supports different degrees of symmetry in application structures and dependence patterns. Both runtime system and (coordination) language are based on an imperative, statically typed, object-oriented language (C++).
