Advances in tin compound analysis with special reference to organotin pesticide residues, the high phytotoxicity of the alkyl tins prevented their use in agriculture. It was found, however, that the phytotoxicity of the corresponding phenyl and cyclohexyl derivatives was much lower, and in the last 10 years triphenyltin and tricyclohexyltin compounds have been widely used as fungicides and acaricides.
