Birefringence Study of BaMnF4eresis. The exponent of the temperature dependence of the order parameter is β. = 0.30 ± 0.02 in agreement with neutrons scattering results. Temperature Dependence of Polar Optical Phonons in the Cubic Phase of BaTiO3 and SrTiO3 in their cubic paraelectric phase up to 1 350 K. Although the soft mode damping in BaTiO. is found to be 4 times higher than in SrTiO., otherwise soft mode behaviors are similar and it seems there is no need to invoke a mechanism for the mode hardening in the former material fundamentally different from that in the second.

Study of the Raman Active Modes for the Suzuki Phase in Doped Alkali HalidesRaman spectroscopy is shown to be an appropriate tool to characterise the Suzuki phase of doped alkali halides. Good agreement is found between our experimental data for 6NaCl:MnCl., 6NaCl:CdCl. and 6NaCl:MgCl. and a theoretical calculation for the frequencies of the active modes in these compounds.
