Limitations of Differential CCD Photometry Due to Weather ConditionsWe discuss the influence of weather conditions on the photometric accuracy of CCD observations. The accuracy seems to be inferior to the generally expected accuracy. We conclude that the minimum size of the emulated aperture and the method of the sky background determination have to be chosen very carefully.

Host Galaxies of Low Luminosity Radio QSOshost galaxies shows that the .,.. — .. and .— .. distributions are similar to the same distributions for radio galaxies, in a large range of redshifts (almost to . ~2.5). These results support the unification of these two families of radio-sources.

The Nature of Radio Emission in Radio-Quiet QSOsd optically thin emission from weak AGN-fed components. High resolution radio observations in combination with far-infrared (FIR) data are suggestive of an evolutionary link with ultraluminous farinfrared galaxies.

The Hosts of , = 2 QSOs00? of at least 3 – 7 per cent of the QSO luminosity, and most likely around 6 –18 per cent of the QSO luminosity. Our observations show that, if the extensions we have detected are indeed galaxies, extraordinary big and luminous host galaxies are not only a characteristic of radio-loud objects, but of QSOs as an entire class.

HST Images of Twenty Nearby Luminous Quasarsradio loud quasars are, as expected, in ellipticals. These 20 luminous quasars occur preferentially in galaxies that are more luminous than the typical field galaxies. Eight companion galaxies lie within projected distances of 10 kpc from the quasar nuclei.

HST Planetary Camera Images of Quasar Host Galaxieseir emission lines and their appearance on the POSS. Two of these objects are included in Table 1 of Veron-Cetty and Veron. The third (IRAS 13218+0552) is slightly too faint and is listed by Veron-Cetty and Veron as a Seyfert Type I.
