Headland Frontshallow sea fronts (see section 5) is their short characteristic length and time scales. Typically, headland fronts may be expected to go through a generation and dissipation phase within a tidal period. Consequently, if the dissipation is complete, the length scales for headland fronts will not exceed a tidal excursion.
