Numerical Searches for Ground State Solutions of a Modified Capillary Equation and for Solutions ofIn this talk we shall present some numerical results for solutions of two degenerate elliptic boundary value problems. While quite different in origin they have some common features which make their numerical solution quite interesting.

Bifurcation from Symmetry,In this report, we announce several new results concerning the existence of non-symmetric solutions of symmetric equations (complete details of the proofs can be found in [.]). Our approach to this question is through bifurcation theory whereby we shall obtain the asymmetric solutions from symmetric ones via a bifurcation procedure.
