The Clinical Commissioning of Beams for Neutron Capture Therapyently constitute the common practice for the dosimetry of epithermal neutron beams intended for use in neutron capture therapy. Special care is taken in order to allow adherence to conventional radiotherapy terminology and the use of detectors calibrated at standards laboratories.

Prescribing, Recording and Reporting of BNCTh its unit gray (Gy). The complex dose distribution in tissue resulting from BNCT, which basically is due to 4 different dose components with different LET, different RBE and different spatial distribution, needs a sophisticated and detailed reporting system in order to avoid any risk of confusion.

Californium-252 as a Neutron Source for BNCTd position alter the primary absorbed dose distribution of the high dose rate Cf-252 source to best conform the irregularly shaped tumour and sufficiently irradiate areas of micro-invasion. The thermal neutron fluence from a Cf-252 source is often used as an external source for neutron induced brachytherapy.
