Systematic Properties of Extragalactic Globular Clusterstellar evolution, to deduce the formation and early evolution of the Galaxy and to determine the total mass of the Galaxy. Galactic globular clusters are generally acknowledged to be the oldest stellar systems in our Galaxy and hence place a strong constraint on estimates of the age of the universe.

The Stellar Population at the Galactic Centerrmation in other galactic nuclei but also as an example of star formation in a bulge environment. The star formation process in the deep gravitational potential well at the center of a galaxy may well differ from that process in the less extreme circumstances found in a disk.
