Integration of Information on the Kraków-Czestochowa Jura for Conservation Purposes: Application of ries of human pressure. To understand this area fully, and formulate conclusions for conservation of the natural heritage of the Jura, it is necessary to collect and arrange all available information on the nature of the area. In this paper the integration of information is proposed according to CORINE methodology.

Exploratory Planning for a Proposed National Marine Conservation Area in Northeast Newfoundlands, Parks Canada is working with area fishers to document local knowledge. Regional dependence on the traditional fishery dictates a planning approach that builds on community management practices. Research is described that will help to further the establishment process.

Usable Knowledge for National Park and Protected Area Management: A Social Science Perspectivee social sciences are defined and described, as is the concept of usable knowledge. The ecological context of protected area management is discussed, and a research agenda for the social sciences is presented. To accomplish this agenda, an international network of Cooperative Protected Area Studies Units (CPASUs) is proposed.
