Two-Dimensional Fourier Transform NMR: Homonuclear and Heteronuclear Couplings-Multiple Quantum Filion of a single variable, the frequency at which the signal would be observed in a steady state experiment. As clearly described by Dr. Farrar, the spectrum is obtained by Fourier transformation of the signal measured as a function of the single variable time, following application of a short r.f. pulse (Ernst et al 1966).
