Effects of Network Structure on the Phase Transition of Acrylamide-Sodium Acrylate Copolymer Gels,nd cross-linking agent has on the volume phase transition of acrylamide-sodium acrylate copolymer gels. The experimental results agree with the theoretical prediction that the phase transition is characterized mainly by the number of ionized groups per effective polymer chain.

Adhesion to Animal Surfaces,e. The filamentous form and reduced negative charge of the adhesive appendage probably allows attachment to occur when the distances of separation between the bacterium and the animal cell surface is such that the mutual repulsion between the surfaces is minimized.
