Orthogonal filters: A numerical approach to filtering theory,gonal transformations of coordinates. In its most elementary form it consists exclusively of Givens rotors and interconnections between them. We show how canonical realization procedures produce orthogonal filters. Global methods for synthesis as well as local recursive methods are treated and numerical properties are considered.
