Introduction,The main purpose of this book is to analyse, from a juridical point of view, the recovery of areas degraded by mining in the international seabed, also statutorily called the Area (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) III, part I, article 1).

Conclusions,The present work discussed United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS?III) in Part XI (mining of the international seabed) and Part XII (protection of marine environments) in the light of an obligation: environmentally recovering mined geographic regions of the Area.
