Query Processing and System-Level Support for Runtime-Adaptive Sensor Networkssoftware modules, i.e. small applications, on demand and without loss of status information. In order to facilitate this operation, we added a lightweight module support for the Nut/OS system and implemented a new memory management that uses tags for preserving state across module updates and node reboots.

Leveraging the BPEL Event Model to Support QoS-aware Process Executionected QoS levels and necessary recovery actions are specified declaratively in form of Event-Condition-Action (ECA) rules. Our main contribution is leveraging BPEL’s standard event model which we use as an event space for the created ECA rules. We validate our approach by an extension to an open source BPEL engine.

Providing Probabilistic Latency Bounds for Dynamic Publish/Subscribe Systems as well as a cluster partitioning scheme. Together they ensure i) adaptation to the individual latency requirements of subscribers under dynamically changing system properties, and ii) scalability by determining appropriate clusters according to available publishers in the system.
