All chapters have been written by experts from each respective field. Exercises and general references are provided at the end of each chapter to encourage students to expand on the topics discussed in the book.

Peroxisomal Properties with Potential Regulatory Implications: Selective ATP Requirement for Fatty Acid Oxidation and Membrane Protein Phosphorylationlation in peroxisomes, mainly a 63 kDa peptide in the membrane. The functional implication of this finding is presently unknown, however, ATP-dependent oxidation, membrane channels and membrane protein phosphorylation, are potentially inter-related novel findings.
