Design, Construction and Testing of the Deployable UHF Antenna for Skynet 4 Stage 2,y AEA Technology. The contract for the supply of the flight UHF antennas was awarded following the successful testing of the Qualification Model antenna. The 4D satellite was launched and the UHF antenna deployed on-orbit in January 1998.

Foldable Rigid Connections,lumns and connections with bending moment rigidity are often constructed. In the paper a key idea is proposed to make such moment frames foldable. A series of foldable rigid connection models will be discussed.

Bi-stable Composite Slit Tubes,framework that explains and predicts this behaviour is developed, assuming the deformation of the tube to be uniform. The bi-stability of many tubes that have been made and tested is correctly predicted.

An alternative is to embed the necessary facilities directly within a non-linear finite element code [7]. This observation is valid for both mechanisms and deployable structures.
