The Impact of Brexit on Gender and Asylum Law in the UKights obligations means leaving the EU is unlikely to immediately and significantly impact decision-making in gender-related asylum claims. However, this chapter highlights the risks associated with the loss of a legal framework underpinned by fundamental rights and effective remedies.

Queering Brexit: What’s in Brexit for Sexual and Gender Minorities? in relation to the situation of LGBTIQ?+?individuals. This is particularly timely in the light of the recent UK Supreme Court decision in Walker v Innospec Limited, where the Court relied on EU law to hold a provision of the Equality Act 2010 unlawful for violating pension rights of same-sex couples.
