Computer Games: Playing Gender, Reflecting on Gender conducted by the Computer Entertainment Software Association (CESA) in Japan in 2001 highlights an interesting phenomenon, namely that the number of active game players decreased from 39.3% to 27.8%. The group of “dormant” players consists of 28.1% stating that they are waiting for games they are interested in.
