https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-662-43466-6philic fungi exhibiting desirable features for specific applications such as psychrophilic enzymes for textile and detergent applications and highly sturdy polyextremophilic cellulases for biofuel application have been reported that they have paved the way for the exploration and finally applications of cellulases from extremophilic fungi.

Modern Tools for the Identification of Fungi, Including Yeastssing ITS, nuclear ribosomal subunits, protein-coding genes, secondary DNA markers, and DNA taxonomy to identify fungal species and their placement across different taxonomic levels. In addition to the list of curated molecular databases, this chapter provides a step-wise procedure for identifying extremophilic fungi.
