Effects of Transmission Lines in Applications of Exploding Wirespedance mismatch between the circuit and the exploding wire. The effective impedance of the exploding wire is nonlinear; therefore, the impedance mismatch is also a function of time and the observed wire explosion phenomenon is affected by the circuit.

Such an exploding wire pattern does not show a homogeneous deposit but systems of striations (Fig. 1). Their number can vary considerably.
