The author uses Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory as the theoretical base and observations, and interviews gathered across a 4-year period as the data. The result is a comparison of the multi-layered social contexts of Senegal, Burkina Faos, and Haiti and the effects of those contexts on the lives of young children in each.
