The outline of the aspects involved in the oxygen, oxide inclusions, sulfur, hydrogen, nitrogen and phosphorus control during the ESR process are discussed. The limitation in lowering the nitrogen and phosphorus contents of liquid steel and alloy during the ESR is presented.

Korean Migrations to and within China,rate, and electrical parameters on the desulfurization in ESR are assessed. The interrelation between desulfurization and sulfide inclusion evolution during ESR is discussed, and advancements in the production of sulfur-bearing steel at a high-sulfur level during ESR are described. The remaining challenges for future work are also proposed.
