Edge-to-Edge Technique for Mitral Regurgitation Associated with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy,e of flow exerted on the distal part of the anterior leaflet. Moreover, an organic MR mechanism is also possible, due to a too long anterior leaflet or abnormal anatomy or position of the papillary muscles. Taken together, these mechanisms are responsible for severe MR in more than 30 % of cases of HCM in surgical series [3].
