High-Field ESR Spectroscopy in Membrane and Protein Biophysics, a complementary structural technique for NMR and x-ray diffraction of proteins and other complex biomolecular systems. The spin labeling method is particularly powerful for elucidating local protein folds and the transmembrane structure of membrane proteins as well as for studying conformational dynamics of proteins and protein-lipid interactions.
