https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-540-71870-3ult. The PHT yield of 85% was achieved when Zn acted as a reductant. Mechanism study for the conversion of DMP suggested that an intermediate 2-hydroxymethyl benzoic acid was produced in the process. The present study provides a useful route for the production of PHT from DMP.

Highly Efficient Conversion of Biomass-Derived Glycolide to Ethylene Glycol Over CuO in Waterpossible reaction pathway for the in situ hydrogenation of bio-based glycolide into ethylene glycol was proposed. The study provided a green process for the efficient formation of ethylene glycol from biomass-derived glycolide without the use of gaseous hydrogen.

A Supported Ni Catalyst Produced from Ni–Al Hydrotalcite-Like Precursor for Reduction of Furfuryl Al. Moreover, Ni/Al.O.-HT could be recycled at least seven times without the loss of its activity. Under optimized conditions, the reduction reaction of several furan and ketone compounds was investigated. A possible mechanism for the reduction of FA to afford THFA was also proposed.
