https://doi.org/10.1007/978-1-4757-4305-0Kurotto and Juosan are Nikoli’s pencil puzzles. We study the computational complexity of Kurotto and Juosan puzzles. It is shown that deciding whether a given instance of each puzzle has a solution is NP-complete. Each of the two proofs uses a reduction from the PLANAR?3SAT problem.
