From a comparison with experimental data it is concluded that the proposed model provides a satisfactory semi-quantitative description of PSB-GB fatigue crack initiation.

T. Metin ?nerci,Zeynep ?nerci Altunayudes. The cyclic response of a-brass was grain size dependent. An intermediate plateau in the CSS curve was obtained for the coarser grain size. The different stages in the CSS curves were reflected in the Manson-Coffin plots.

The Cyclic Deformation of Titanium: Dislocation Substructures and Effective and Internal Stressesnd the different cyclic hardening or softening stages are related to changes in these stress components. The cyclic softening stage corresponds essentially to a decrease in Δσ*, which result is discussed in terms of the mechanism by which oxygen in solution hardens titanium and zirconium.
