Cyclic Strain Localization and Fatigue Crack Initiation in Persistent Slip Bands in Face-Centred Cubis presented and shown to be in basic agreement with surface observations on fatigued copper single crystals. The final part deals with fatigue studies on copper polycrystals. The determined fatigue thresholds for the formation of PSBs are found to correspond closely to those established earlier on monocrystalline specimens.

Pathogenesis: Hemodynamic Alterationsthe most difficult to analyze because they involve material damage at the atomic, microscopic and macroscopic scale. In general, the different scale level of mechanical irreversibility must not only be accounted for but related to one another by theory before a clear understanding of the total process of fatigue can be understood.
