Ontology (1): The Modern Economics of Death and Its Trade-Offspecific trade-off with a single currency and a single discounting rate. Based on recent models I show that the plurality of trade-offs leaves room for stochasticity and for constraints, which limits the explanatory role of economic concepts such as trade-offs, investment, and resources, with respect to the evolutionary biology of death.

A Providentialist Metaphysics and the Traditional Economics of Death: Mortality and IndividualityI show that it’s part of an economic scheme of thought. I indicate how the antagonism between individual and universal (species) is central for philosophical as well as biological accounts of biological death.

Epistemology of Death (2): Experiments, Tests and Mechanisms gene silencing. In the latter case I expose the research on the so-called longevity genes. Then I interpret the variety of conflicting theories and the lack of a crucial test and a univocal result about these theories; I argue in favor of an explanatory pluralism that obtains at several levels.
