Gas and Dust in Comets,transient phenomena appear only while a strong interaction prevails between the solar light or the solar wind, and something rather elusive that we call the cometary nucleus. The nucleus, even if it is too tiny to be easily seen, must be . permanent feature that is the source and the origin of these transient phenomena.
