Because of the embargo imposed on the import of hydrogen recirculation compressors into the Soviet Union, the operation and maintenance of many industrial plants as well as the construction of new ones were problematic if possible at all.

Catalysts created by chemists, as a rule, can demonstrate a great ability to do their “chemical” work, if only the process arrangements do not pose impervious limitations toward the desired catalyst performance.
