Computer Determination of Earthquake Epicentersn is unknown and some of the observations contain large errors (as is the case in seismological surveying). We judge from rather extensive experience with our program that when the necessary minimum quantity of data is available, failures (cases in which no solution is found) are very rare, and significant errors are virtually eliminated.
