Introductionit has become necessary to have some regulatory device on the pacemaker. Certain models have now been built with two speeds, ‘regular’ and ‘fast’. The latter speed has helped the recipient in such simple tasks as running for a bus as well as the more difficult tasks of responding to complex physiological stresses.
