Surface Diffusion and Real-Space Renormalization Group,n group (RSRG) [., ., .] and Monte Carlo (MC) [., ., .] methods have been used in order to describe the surface diffusion phenomenon. It was found that adparticle interaction strongly influences surface diffusion, especially at low temperatures and in the close vicinity of surface phase transitions.

At low temperatures, a third channel, which exists only for A- and AB-type steps, also contributes to a diffusion enhancement.
