In mammal models, maximal longevity is not affected by life-long administration of coenzyme Q. when animals are fed normal diets, but dietary coenzyme Q. supplementation can ameliorate deleterious alterations associated with aging and even extends lifespan of rats fed a potentially prooxidant diet
