Prediction and Shortening the Clinical Trial: Further Advantages of the Component-Specific Model,effective trial drugs for several weeks, and will markedly reduce costs to drug companies of the clinical trial itself. This evidence will hopefully stimulate more participation of companies in antidepressant drug development.

Introduction,s have occurred at great expense, leading to discouragement and diverting of industry to other issues. The chapter provides the rationale for why a new approach to evaluation in the trials is necessary.

Why Now the Need for a New Clinical Trials Model for Antidepressants?,lier like assumptions to be wrong. When the new more comprehensive, componential trial is applied, it is also shown that new applications of the drug to the treatment of other disorders are uncovered.
