Unilateral nevoid telangiectasia, capillary haemangioma and pigmented purpuric dermatosis are the main differential diagnoses. Treatment can be performed for cosmetic reasons. Pulsed dye laser therapy has yielded good results.

Patients were advised to strictly avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum sunscreen, and were treated with topical and oral retinoids. A regular follow up was recommended. The features and differential diagnosis of EDV are discussed.
