Reading Mill within a Linguistic Framework,he participant(s); in a sense, the phenomenon is a mental ‘object,’ and the researcher aims to describe the object as completely as possible (Sokolowski, 2000). In this case, the phenomenon is foreign language teaching, and the participants are Chinese-born teachers teaching in both China and the United States.
