Transplant Strategies in Myelin Disorders,mplete, and the relapsing nature of the disease results in chronic demyelination. The failure of complete and lasting repair in MS is in contrast to the peripheral nervous system where Schwann cells have a much greater ability to remyelinate axons following extensive demyelination.
