The Photodynamic Diagnosis (PDD) for Early Detection of Carcinoma and Dysplasia of the Bladderof 5-Aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA), a fluorescence cystoscopy for photodetection of tiny tumors in the bladder can be made. We investigated whether it is easier to recognize neoplasias or dysplasias of the bladder by fluorescence cystoscopy than it is to recognize them by conventional white light cystoscopy.

Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography Studies in the Diagnosis and Staging of Transitionalhough PET has been in existence since the 1960s, it did not gain complete clinical acceptance until roughly a decade ago. At that time, Di Chiro et al demonstrated the ability of PET to differentiate between recurrent brain tumor and radiation necrosis..
