A Portrait of the Changing Academic Profession in the Netherlands academia. Traditional tasks and academic values have survived major policy reforms, contributing to maintain satisfaction levels. Compared to their international colleagues, Dutch academics stand out on various aspects of the profession such as the strong notion of scholarship focused on original and basic research.

Academic Inbreeding of Korean Professors: Academic Training, Networks, and their Performancectivities than non-inbred professors, but spend less on teaching. However, regression analysis performed found that inbred professors are not necessarily more productive than non-inbred professors, nor more satisfied with their job.

Identity Features and Working Conditions of Argentine Academics: A Comparative Study of Two Disciplih academics have worked (state and private ones, whether academic or not) were also taken into account. Finally, we tried to get an insight on the academics’ perceptions of their working conditions, the satisfaction levels with their current academic work and the level of importance they attribute to their disciplinary and institutional referents.
