Effektivit?t und Effizienz in der Pr?ventioncal owing to the environment of the site of implantation, and electrochemical due to the presence of chloride ions in the biological milieu. There exist an interaction between the implant and the tissue leading to a tissue response expecially in the vicinity of the implanted material.

Cobalt based alloys are not widely used in this application due to their high material and fabrication costs and their relative lack of ductility. Such devices are considered to be temporary implants; long term biological effects should not be a factor in their routine use.
