Total Ozone Variations and Meteorological Processes,Ozone is a relatively stable trace gas with highest density in the lower stratosphere. As the air moves around, the ozone is transported, and the distribution changes especially when vertical mixing takes place, since the steepest ozone gradients exist in the vertical direction.
