Biochemical Mechanisms of Pollutant Stressuture research to be formulated. In keeping with this concept, I hope to describe several possible scenarios for the development of yield reduction due to primary and secondary biochemical responses. I will concentrate upon O., as it was the major oxidant investigated within the NCLAN studies.

Problems of Crop Loss Assessment When There is Exposure to Two or More Gaseous Pollutantsless than expected, in experimental exposures of crops in realistic situations, that we must give careful consideration to this subject. Indeed, one could regard the body of information presently available from experiments on single pollutants merely as a first step in understanding the real effects of air pollution on crops.

Research Approaches to Pollutant Crop Loss Functionse discussed, considered, and decided upon. The National Crop Loss Assessment Network (NCLAN) project was an outstanding example of this type of process, and the results demonstrated the merit of an orderly approach.
