Evaluation of Charcoal Hemoperfusion in Uremia on a short-time basis (1, 2), and no long term studies of the particular charcoal hemoperfusion device used in these studies have been performed. Chang, et al (3, 4) have published the only long-term studies of charcoal hemoperfusion in the management of uremia.
